Whether you travel during the lead up to the festivities or decide to spend your holidays here with an ocean view, there’s something for the whole family in Myrtle Beach, SC, every weekend. We’ve listed a few of our favorite picks below to help you plan.

You’ll want a rental property close to all the festivities. Vantage has cozy condos and larger homes at great offseason rates ready for you to book now.

Shop like the Dickens

The Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals: 11/14 – 11/17

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year,” Charles Dickens famously wrote in his classic A Christmas Carol. Tipping its hat to the beloved writer, The Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals is a national award-winning event offering a delightful blend of shopping and entertainment options.

Do a little time-travelling in the Victorian Holiday Marketplace held in the massive exhibit hall of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. You won’t find any Scrooges in here, just hundreds of spirited vendors in Victorian garb selling jewelry, gifts, toys, arts and crafts, gourmet foods, holiday décor and more.

Light up the night

Tree Lighting Ceremony at Broadway at the Beach: 11/16

This year, Broadway at the Beach is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its annual tree lighting. The celebration will include live entertainment, music performances and a special visit from Santa. Be sure to take advantage of the great deals at all the restaurants and shops that make this a favorite destination all year round!

Lighting of the Landing: 11/23

Barefoot Landing is also starting off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony. But they’re adding a different kind of illumination too—fireworks. Bring the family for live entertainment from local performers and an appearance from the big elf himself as the countdown to Christmas begins.

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree Lighting: 12/3

Take advantage of the warm winter weather and enjoy the fun at McLean Park—playgrounds, a meditation garden, tennis courts, a gazebo overlooking a 2-acre lake—and then stay for the lighting of North Myrtle Beach’s official Christmas tree. Kids of all ages will love the themed activities, entertainment and yummy refreshments.

Nights of a Thousand Candles: 12/5 – 12/22

Brookgreen Gardens is a jewel of South Carolina’s coastal community, and it’s most magical during the Nights of a Thousand Candles. Come see the Gardens shine with the glow from 2,700 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights. Stroll the winding paths with wine, or cider and cocoa for the kids, and listen to holiday music and carolers. You’ll understand why Nights of a Thousand Candles was named the “Best Christmas Lights in South Carolina” by Travel + Leisure magazine. While you’re at Brookgreen, check out the rest of the property, featuring over 9,000 acres of natural and cultivated landscape.

Holidays on the move

Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot: 11/28

Before you sit down for a feast, shed some calories in the Turkey Trot at The Market Common. More than 1,200 runners will pound the pavement before heading home to carve the bird. You’ll run through some of Myrtle Beach’s best spots, including the historic Air Force Base. There are multiple races to join—a 5K, a mile and a free tot trot for kids.

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade: 12/7

Head to Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, SC, and join the locals for the annual Christmas Parade. Marching bands, dignitaries, special guests and illuminated floats will spread holiday cheer to your whole group.

Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade: 12/8

Join the Murrells Inlet community for the staple event of the season and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. While you’re in Murrells Inlet, treat yourself to the amazing waterfront dining on the MarshWalk, including fresh seafood, wood-fired pizzas and all the oysters you can eat at The Claw House.
