Get your motor running

Car Show

From April 5 to April 7, the 2019 Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam will build on the huge success of last year’s inaugural event. The two-wheelers come roaring in for the Myrtle Beach Bike Week Spring Rally, May 10 through 19. The event grows bigger each year, with over 275,000 people coming to enjoy the bike shows, special merchandise and day trips down south to Charleston or up north to Wilmington, North Carolina. There’s plenty of hangouts in downtown Myrtle Beach for you to connect with old and new friends alike.

Golf with the pros

Golf Myrtle Beach

Sure, Augusta is home to the PGA Masters Tournament. But Myrtle Beach, SC, has the Monday After the Masters – one of the country’s most popular Celebrity Pro-Am tournaments.

It all started in 1994 as a charity event organized by members of the band Hootie & the Blowfish. They’ve since raised millions for the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation and the South Carolina junior golf program. You never know who may show up to Monday After the Masters. In past years, actors, athletes, comedians and musicians have joined golf icons like John Daly and Tiger Woods on the links. From April 13 through 15, participants will enjoy exclusive parties, practice rounds and a Hootie & the Blowfish and Friends concert.

Dance the night away

Carolina Shag

The Grand Strand is home to the shag dance craze that caught the South by storm around the 1940s and has grown in popularity ever since. From April 10 through May 4, thousands of shaggers will do their thing in North Myrtle Beach, SC, during the Society of Stranders Spring Safari.

This event attracts lovers of beach music and shaggers from all over for 10 days of dancing, friendship and nightlife in the area’s most beloved local hotspots. The event culminates with a massive parade featuring floats from the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs.

Run with the Divas

Run with the Divas

In a stunning display of girl power, the popular Divas running series comes to North Myrtle Beach on May 5. The 8th Annual Divas Half Marathon and 5K is a unifying event for women (and men) of all ages with courses that direct runners through sites and scenery of North Myrtle Beach. All participants receive pink tutus, boas and tiaras, fit-tech shirts and priceless memories.

Ring in spring at Mayfest

For one day, approximately 15,000 people flock to Main Street in North Myrtle Beach to honor the month of May and celebrate the start of another summer. This year’s 14th Annual Mayfest on Main Festival happens Saturday, May 11. Come enjoy live entertainment, food and craft vendors, shopping and special activities for the kids.

Crack into some crabs

Crab Fest

Seafood lovers rejoice: The 38th Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival returns to Little River, SC, May 18 and 19. Little River is less than 15 minutes from North Myrtle Beach and worth every second of the drive. As the name implies, the Festival offers fresh, local seafood, along with treats from other vendors. Both days are jam packed with live entertainment and beach music to set the mood.

Party with your favorite stars

Carolina Country Music Fest

Some of the biggest names in country music are scheduled to perform live during the 5th annual Carolina Country Music Fest taking place at the former Myrtle Beach Pavilion site from June 6 through 9. This year’s headliners include local favorites from the Myrtle Beach area along with country legends Alabama and contemporary chart-topper Dierks Bentley.

The star-studded lineup at the Carolina Country Music Fest also includes performances by Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Dan + Shay, Midland and Randy Houser. Food and beverage vendors on-site have everything you need to keep the party going. This event looks to be a sellout, so you’ll want to get your tickets as soon as possible. There’s nothing like having the sun on your face and sand between your toes to help you appreciate the freedom we have here in the U.S.A. Enjoy a moment of solitude as you listen to the waves and remember those who have fought for our freedom and continue to defend it today.  At 1:00 p.m. on July 4th, beach-goers will get to witness some of our country’s best military pilots in action during “Salute from the Shore.”  F-16s from Shaw Air Force base and several vintage military will show off their courage, teamwork, and expertise as they zoom over the South Carolina coastline from Cherry Grove all the way to Hilton Head.

  2. Fireworks

Start the day at 8 a.m. at The Market Common by participating in the Independence Day 8K (and 5K/1 Mile), a family-friendly race around Valor Park with prizes for various age groups.  Since it’s the 4th of July and it just wouldn’t be the same without a parade, check out Pawleys Island’s Annual 4th of July Parade (10:00 a.m.) or the  “Red, White and Southern” Annual Boat Parade at the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk (4:00 p.m.) where you can enjoy creative float displays and festivities.  Starting at 2:00 p.m., Croissants Bistro and Bakery in Myrtle Beach will sponsor its annual Cupcake Eating Contest at Broadway at the Beach in Heroes Harbor.  This event features numerous family-friendly activities such as face painting, pony rides, and live music, as well as a contest (3:00 p.m.) to see who can devour the most iced cupcakes in five minutes!

  4. Food

What’s a birthday party without the food? On Saturday, July 2nd, La Belle Amie vineyards in Little River will be hosting an Independence Day Cookout from Noon-5:00 p.m. with wine tastings, barbecue, and live music (bring 2 canned/dry goods for area food bank and save $3 on admission).  But no matter what days you are visiting over the July 4th holiday, Myrtle Beach offers ten miles of restaurants, from fine dining to casual cuisine.
