Get in Gear for Myrtle Beach Car Shows

The wind in your hair, the open road, the warm salt air, music and laughter—the beach was made for cruising. Hundreds of thousands of people ride into Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, every year to rev their engines and share their common passion for all things automotive. That’s because Myrtle Beach car shows and bike shows are some of the East Coast’s largest and most popular events.

Whether you prefer two wheels or four, antique models or hot rods, you’ll find a gathering of friends to make your beach trip something special.

Here’s a look at just some of the bike and car events coming to Myrtle Beach in 2019.

31st Annual Run to the Sun Car Show

March 21–23, 2019

Classic car enthusiasts from across the country come together annually for Myrtle Beach’s Run to the Sun Car Show—the largest independent car show on the East Coast. Hosted by the Pee Dee Street Rodders, Run to the Sun includes a weekend tailored to those who share a love of classic American cars and trucks. The showcase of automobiles stretches on as far as the eye can see.

Run to the Sun is also the car show that cares, raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Horry County Benevolent Fund and Grand Strand Miracle League. Last year, the event raised $97,000.

2nd Annual Jeep Jam

April 5–7, 2019

The inaugural Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam in 2018 was a huge success, featuring over 600 Jeeps and attracting thousands of Jeep enthusiasts. This year promises to be even bigger and better. The three-day Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam will include an obstacle course, a Jeep show, live music, raffles and more than 75 vendors and food trucks. Best of all, the action happens just one block away from the beach!

Myrtle Beach Bike Week

Spring Rally: May 10–19, 2019

Fall Rally: September 30–October 6, 2019

All motorcycles, riders and bike enthusiasts are welcome to join the fun of the Myrtle Beach Bike Week Spring and Fall Rallies held every year. People come to these riding events from all across the East Coast to enjoy some beach time, catch up with old friends and bond with new ones.

The big Bike Week Spring Rally started in 1940, and today it attracts an estimated 275,000 people to the Myrtle Beach area. Just as with years past, this spring’s bike week extravaganza serves up special bike shows, bike-themed vendors and tours around the Grand Strand. Bikers take cruising day trips to Charleston and Wilmington, North Carolina. There’s also a Loop Tour spanning nearly 200 miles through Horry and Georgetown Counties.

If you prefer a smaller crowd, or if you want a great reason to come back, the Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally typically draws an estimated 25,000+ people.

24th Annual Corvettes at Myrtle Beach

June 1–2, 2019

Hosted by the Myrtle Beach Corvette Club, Corvettes at the Beach kicks off on Friday night with a dinner and dancing banquet. Saturday is show day, with Corvettes of all types polished and on display at Broadway on the Beach. Trophies will be awarded for classes covering the C1 to C7 models, along with other specialized categories.

The day includes door prizes, entertainment and a variety of food and auto vendors. The National Corvette Museum will also have items for sale.

18th Annual Mustang Week

September 2–8, 2019

Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach is far from your ordinary car show. It’s an event worthy of one of America’s most iconic muscle cars. Past years have included a Mustang “family” Meet ‘n Greet at Broadway on the Beach, an autocross driving school, special competitions at the Myrtle Beach Speedway, drag racing and the East Coast’s largest Mustang and SVT cruise-in, drawing over 2,500 vehicles.
