ESPN Myrtle Beach Invitational — College Basketball, Nov. 2019

You’re invited!

ESPN is hosting its second annual Myrtle Beach Invitational on November 21, 22 and 24. Come catch eight men’s college basketball teams over three action-packed days compete to crown the king of hardwood in Myrtle Beach, SC. This early-season tournament is hosted at Coastal Carolina University’s HTC Center.

These teams will vie for Myrtle Beach bragging rights:

  • Middle Tennessee State University
  • Mississippi State University
  • Tulane University
  • Ohio University
  • Baylor University
  • University of Utah
  • Coastal Carolina University

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders take on the Villanova Wildcats.

In this year’s first matchup, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders take on the Villanova Wildcats. ESPN ranked Villanova ninth in its most recent preseason predictions, making them the highest-ranked team in the Big East Conference.

After the Wildcats secured their second and third national championship titles in 2016 and 2018, there’s no sign of them slowing down in the upcoming season. Can the Blue Raiders shock them and upset the favorites?

Game 2: Mississippi State University vs. Tulane University — 11/21, 1:30 or 2 pm


The Mississippi State Bulldogs will face off against Tulane’s Green Wave.

Shortly after the final buzzer sounds on Villanova-Middle Tennessee State, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will face off against Tulane’s Green Wave. The Bulldogs were the fifth seed in the East division of last year’s NCAA tournament, but they’re looking to rebound from a first-round elimination.

Game 3: Ohio University vs. Baylor University — 11/21, 4:30 pm

The Ohio Bobcats match up against the Baylor Bears.

For the day’s third game, the Ohio Bobcats match up against the Baylor Bears. The Bears hold the 17th spot in ESPN’s preseason rankings and defeated Syracuse in last season’s national tournament.

Game 4: University of Utah vs. Coastal Carolina University — 11/21, 7 pm

The Utah Utes play the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in the final first-day game. Not only were the Chanticleers semifinalists in the 2019 College Basketball Invitational, they will have homecourt advantage.
