Horseback Riding in North Myrtle Beach and What You Need to Know

Have a soft spot for animals, or just want to do something a little different on your next beach vacation? Consider horseback riding in North Myrtle Beach for a fun departure from the typical beach day. Although horseback riding on the beach is not allowed during the summer months, there are plenty of other great ways to spend a day horseback riding. With lots of great options in the area, horseback riding is one of the top North Myrtle Beach attractions! Here are a few things you’ll need to know before you begin your adventure:

The Rules Change with the Season

Depending on the time of year that you plan your horseback riding trip, you may or may not be able to ride on the beach. From March 1st – October 31st, horseback riding is not allowed on public beaches or in public marshes. But, don’t let this discourage you from participating in one of the best North Myrtle Beach activities. During the summer months, most horseback riding companies offer guided rides through wooded trails. If riding on the beach is a must, you can still find ways to do so. Consider booking a trip with Inlet Point Plantation. This company uses the private beach at Waites Island, which allows horseback riding year-round. Waiters Island is a beautiful, undeveloped 1,380-acre island with breathtaking, untouched beachfront and lakeside riding paths.

You Don’t Have to Ride on the Beach to Have Fun

There are plenty of companies like Wampee Stables and Horseback Riding of Myrtle Beach that offer guided trips through some of North Myrtle Beach’s best wooded trails. These rides are a great way to see a different side of North Myrtle Beach at an affordable price. Riders who take these wooded trails and hidden paths get the rare opportunity to see the often undiscovered side of the North Myrtle Beach landscape. Plus, these shady spots offer sweet relief for visitors who have had their fill of salt and sand at the beach!

All Experience Levels are Welcome

One of the best parts about horseback riding in North Myrtle Beach is that it’s an activity that the whole family can enjoy! Children and adults of all ages and riding levels will have a fantastic time horseback riding in North Myrtle Beach. Most tours last about 1.5 hours and take you on scenic, but easy to navifate, trails. No previous horseback riding experience is necessary and expert guides help new riders get accustomed to riding calm and well-trained horses.

You’ll Get a Souvenir to Take Home

At both Wampee Stables and Horseback Riding of Myrtle Beach, guides take photographs of your group before and during your horseback riding adventure.  At the end of your ride, a free disc filled with images from your trip will go home with you. This is a great way to ensure the memories you make on your ride will last a lifetime!
